Bill Ackman is the son of a famous real estate financer, Lawrence David Ackman, who is the chairman of New York based real estate financing firm, Ackman-Ziff Real Estate Group. He was born on 11 May 1966 and raised in Chappaqua, New York. He attended Harvard College to get his B. A. degree and graduated magna cum laude in 1988.
Later, he attended Harvard Business School and got his MBA degree from there in 1992. Soon after leaving Harvard Business School, Bill Ackman founded an investment firm called Gotham Partners along with a fellow Harvard graduate. The company made small investments in public companies.
