Sean John Combs is the son of former US Air Force men Melvin Earl Combs and model Janice. He was born on 4 November 1969 in Harlem, New York. At that time, his father Melvin was associated with a convicted drug dealer in New York. When Diddy was 2 years old, his father was shot to death.
His upbringing happened in Mount Vernon, New York. Despite the tragedies in his early life, he graduated from Mount Saint Michel Academy in 1987. He was a business major at Howard University but couldn’t finish there. But he received an honorary Ph.D. degree in 2014 from the university.
Professional Life
Soon after leaving the university, Puff Daddy started working as an intern at Uptown Records. But he got fired from there and open his own record label Bad Boy Entertainment which was a joint venture with Arista Records. He started working with artists like The Notorious B.I.G, Craig Mack, etc.
His solo music career was also successful. His first commercial work was Can’t Nobody Hold Me Down which he recorded in 1997 and it stayed at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 28 weeks straight.
